Delete your account & data

You can permanently delete your youHungry? account and the personal data associated with it at any time. There are two ways:

1. From inside the app (fastest)

  • Open youHungry? and sign in.
  • Go to Settings.
  • Tap Delete account and confirm.

2. By email request

If you can't access the app, email us and we'll process the deletion for you. Send your request from the email address on your account, or include your @username so we can verify it.

Request data deletion

What gets deleted

  • Your profile, display name, username, and profile photo.
  • Your friends list and pending friend requests.
  • Your saved places and match/session history.
  • Your notification preferences and push token.
Please note: deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Because sessions are shared records, deleting your account may also remove associated shared session history. Email deletion requests are completed within 30 days of verification. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

Common questions

How do I add a friend?
In the app, open the Friends section and search for your friend's @username (or their email), then send a request. You'll need an account (not a guest) to add friends.
How do I change my username?
Go to Settings → Username and pick a new one.
I didn't get my verification email.
Check your spam/junk folder. You can resend it from the sign-in screen. Verification emails come from a no-reply address.
How do I start a session?
Tap Start Swiping, choose a location, category, and radius, then send an invite to a friend.
How do I turn notifications on or off?
Toggle notifications in Settings (and in your device's system settings for the app).
